Training montages are fun.

So, everyone's doing a training montage? I'll show you how it's really done!

[Tenshi, training for fun, can be spotted doing various training-related things.
-Starting minor earthquakes close to the circus that someone may want to investigate
-chasing groups of demons with pillars of stone bursting from the ground
-Defending prinnies from bully demons by pelting the bullies with drilling rocks?! Huh?
-Writing her name into the side of a mountain with her lasers...by writing two letters at once with two different huge lasers
-Throwing rocks at your character
-Creating a kind of "ladder" into the sky by making rocks float, and jumping from rock to rock towards the sky
-falling down after a failed jump
-gathering fairies, and dodging their bullets.]

*Sonic dodges. Bearing two chaos emeralds, he lands on top of the pillar, sneer on his face.*

Heh, I'll take that as an acceptance speech! *runs towards her, aiming an emerald charged punch*

My, an angry earth-crawling...no, you're skittering, aren't you? Regardless, regardless...my sword wants to taste...uh...your fur? Prepare yourself!

Uhm, wait, he attacked me, so he probably is prepared? Well nevermind.

[Tenshi reacts by moving forward...and jumping Sonic head on, aiming to intercept his attack with her translucent sword that, as usual, appears in her hands as if it had always been there before]

*Sonic knows that this isn't Super Smash Bros, so fist will not counter-own sword. Instead, he twirls to evade the swipe and tries to smash her in the face with a kick.*

[And Tenshi's sword explodes. Well, the hilt seems to do - Tenshi is using one of those moves where the sword shootsan expanding circle of lasers. It's mean that those are chainable]

Sorry, not on easy-mode today!

*Sonic gets hit and sails out, but easily recovers, having taken minimal damage*

I think that works out then! *The emeralds, having boosted his power and reaction time, allow him to dash forward, then around Tenshi to create a vicious tornado.*

...unless she's throwing the fight again. Heh, looks like I'll have to go somewhere else to train!

[At which point there's a HUGE rock flying at him from behind, as Tenshi had run up to him somehow, in the usual videogame logic that makes this possible somehow]

Not so fast! The other miko tried a whirlwind on me before, I won't fall for that again! [Huff huff]

What?! Oh now she shows me... *Sonic flips out of harm's way before dashing back towards her, charging and unleashing yet another punch to her face*

[Tenshi doesn't mind Sonic closing in to her - she slashes with her sword which, in a mean twist, does huge red slashes far bigger than the actual sword. Again she is willing to take a hit to hit Sonic in turn]

Yes, yes, come closer~!

*Sonic, having far less defense to allow him to mimic Tenshi's strategy, takes something of a beating from her slashes.*

Grrrggh!

*he flips over, and starts taking a far less direct approach, zooming about and striking less predictably. For instance, he trips her before doing any heavier strikes*

That, in turn, does get some hits in, causing Tenshi to happily smile - and to, immediately after knock the entire area into the sky, herself included

Whoo no, not staying a sitting duck for that one!

*Knocked asunder by the earth blow, Sonic quickly recovers and focuses largely on staying in one piece and not getting smacked by surprise attacks*

[Two giant red lasers! Oh, actually, they're not lasers but superfast and superdense gatherings of spirit bullets, according to Marisa, and she knows her danmaku. Close enough to a laser? Possible!]
